While school is out for summer, students at Pacific Northwest Ballet School stay busy! While summer is often a time of rest and relaxation, many ballet students take the opportunity to turn up the heat on their dance studies, with summer workshops, dance camps, and intensives. PNB School hosts dance activities for all ages and many of PNB School’s upper level and Professional Division students disperse to summer intensives across the country.

Summer Saturday Creative Movement & Pre-Ballet (ages 5 – 7)
July 16 to August 13, 2022

In-person Saturday summer sessions are back at our Seattle and Bellevue studios! Join us for a special, five-week summer series of Creative Movement (for dancers ages 5–6) and Pre-Ballet (for dancers age 7–8) classes meeting once a week on Saturday mornings. These energetic sessions encourage imagination, creativity, and self-expression while introducing children to ballet and music concepts.

Eastside Summer Dance Workshops (ages 5 – 7)
July 11 to August 5, 2022

Join us for week-long educational and fun ballet summer camps at the Francia Russell Center in Bellevue! Students gain an appreciation for ballet and its rich history through dance classes, story time, and unique craft projects for students ages 5-7. Each week is themed—choose from Cinderella, Swan Lake, The Nutcracker, and The Sleeping Beauty. Dancers end each week with an informal mini-performance to put everything they’ve learned together.

Summer Course at the Francia Russell Center in Bellevue (Levels I – V)

The Francia Russell Center Summer Course (Dancers Level I-V, ages 8+) offers a rich summer
dance experience with classes in ballet technique and more! Current PNB School students in Levels I through V dance with us through the summer. The five-week summer program provides holistic summer dance experience through classes in ballet technique, pointe, variations, modern, jazz, and hip hop, as well as seminars on dancer health and wellness. Enrollment in Summer Course at the FRC is open to all PNB School students currently registered in Levels I–V. Audition required for dancers who are not already PNB School dancers.

Summer Course at the Phelps Center

Each winter, PNB School launches a national Audition Tour for aspiring PNBS Summer Course students. Students are invited to spend five weeks in Seattle training at our state-of-the-art facility, the Phelps Center. Students experience the ultimate setting for professional training while enjoying the benefits of PNB’s outstanding faculty, rigorous curriculum, and safe, secure environment. Many upper level Summer Course students are invited to stay and study at PNB School for the academic year, and many of the dancers you see on stage today started as Summer Course students!

We have dance for adults too!

Our Adult Open Program classes offer ballet classes at all levels, six days a week!
