Subscription Packages for Any Type of Ballet Fan

Interested in a PNB Mini-Season subscription, but don’t know what shows to pick? Today on the PNB blog, we’ve bundled different performances for all types of ballet fans. From the story ballet buff to the new works aficionado, we’ve got a selection of shows that will work for you!

For the Story Ballet Buff…

Start the 2024/25 season with our All Balanchine rep, which includes the iconic Prodigal Son. Then, enjoy a world premiere production of The Sleeping Beauty, with a beautiful, Northwest-inspired set designed by Preston Singletary. Join PNB again in April with the classic Roméo et Juliette, a PNB favorite. Finish the season with our Director’s Choice program, which includes Twyla Tharp’s Nine Sinatra Songs. Let Frank Sinatra’s singing and Twyla Tharp (a master choreographer of the ballet and Broadway stage) transport you.

For the Innovators Supporter…

Step into the world of contemporary ballet with our season opener, THE TIMES ARE RACING, featuring Justin Peck’s joyful sneaker ballet. Next, join us for a re-imagining of the classic tale The Sleeping Beauty. Although it’s a story ballet, with a creative team including Native American glass artist Preston Singletary, costume designer Paul Tazewell (Hamilton, West Side Story), and MacArthur Fellow Basil Twist, this production is innovative indeed. Next, attend EMERGENCE, featuring Crystal Pite’s intense ensemble work. Finish the season with Director’s Choice, including work choreographed by PNB’s very own Kiyon Ross, as well as a world premiere from Rena Butler, former Choreographic Associate of the Gibney Company.

For the Romantic Evening Seeker…

Join Princess Aurora on her journey exploring love, dreams, and destiny in The Sleeping Beauty. Next, join us for EMERGENCE, which includes Jerome Robbins’ Afternoon of a Faun, and watch an intimate moment as two dancers meet in a rehearsal studio. In the spring, see Roméo et Juliette; Jean-Christophe Maillot’s distillation of this classic love story is not to be missed. Finish the season with Twyla Tharp’s Nine Sinatra Songs, a series of duets set to Sinatra’s music, at our Director’s Choice program.

For the New Works Aficionado…

PNB’s dedication to new works continues next season. First up, an anticipated world premiere by PNB’s new resident choreographer Jessica Lang in THE TIMES ARE RACING. Then, a world premiere production of The Sleeping Beauty, with experts Peter Boal and Doug Fullington staging Marius Petipa’s choreography while glass artist Preston Singletary reimages the fairyland setting. In EMERGENCE, see Price Suddarth, PNB dancer, choreographer, and director of the PNB Film Festival, set a new work with an all-new score created by Alfonso Peduto. Finish the season with a world premiere by Rena Butler, who has danced with Hubbard Street Dance Chicago, AIM by Kyle Abraham, and Bill T. Jones/Arnie Zane Company, among others, and is now an exciting choreographer in her own right.
